PipelineB2B 2010…what’s next
2009 was quite the year for many of us. For the PipelineB2B movement, 2009 signaled responding to a need for Chicago’s entrepreneur, in-transition and freelance community to facilitate introductions that could lead to collaborations for learning and business growth. I know of several success stories from the PipelineB2B events, and I am looking forward to hearing even more in 2010!
For those who haven’t had the opportunity to participate in a PipelineB2B event, I have carefully structured the form and format to be smaller events and I survey registrants to make personal introductions are made based on business or professional needs. I have attended way too many networking events without having one single valuable conversation or worse, felt that I lost time that could have been best serve elsewhere working on my sales pipeline so making sure that each event is meaningful for the attendees is very important to me.
Professionally, in a whirlwind of events that spanned two days this week, I have accepted a job offer that would require a move to Milwaukee – immediately. I am very sad to leave Chicago and the wonderful connections I have made and the community I have built, but the opportunity is much too great to pass up. Despite being a little further away I am committed to maintaining the PipelineB2B momentum moving forward. It is important for me to stay connected within the Chicago community so I plan on continuing hosting events and making personal introductions whenever I can. What this does mean is that I will be relying heavily on this blog, Twitter and Facebook to facilitate more conversations between events. And it puts responsibility on me to stay on top of blogging – please help me keep that promise.
My plan moving forward is to host a PipelineB2B event in April after I have had a chance to settle into my new role at GMR Marketing. Additionally, I would like to focus on bringing in guest bloggers and continue featuring Chicago’s small business community in the interview posts begun last year.
I have great hopes for the success for all of you and invite you to continue following the PipelineB2B movement in 2010.
Happy New Year,
Barbara
